philip’s favourites: bixby
This is a first in a series of posts of selected strips that are dear to me for one reason or another. I thought I’d kick it off with the first appearance of Bixby, from 2002.
From time to time in “Fisher” I tried to deal with the fact that people tend to project personalities onto the technologies they use (and we like to adopt computer metaphors for human functions, too) With Bixby, I was finally able to play with my tech anxieties through a character who approaches the human/computer line from the other side. He is an innocent character with the curiosity and enthusiasm of a child, and that makes him a lot of fun to insert into a story.
