cartoonist and 2D animator
Philip Street is a cartoonist and 2D animator. He grew up in Blyth, Ontario, reading comic books and MAD magazine. By the time he was in high school he had decided that he would be a cartoonist. One thing led to another and he wound up at the University of Toronto, where he studied English and drew cartoons for campus newspapers. A job drawing caricatures at Ontario Place for several summers allowed him to postpone adulthood further.
Philip studied classical (that is, hand-drawn) animation in the summer school at Sheridan College in Oakville, starting in 1992. Around that time The Globe and Mail picked up Fisher, for a run that lasted just over 20 years in the paper. Since 1998 he has also been a graphic designer and animator at the CBC in Toronto.
